Frequently Asked Questions

The ideal time to take newborn photos is during their first 7-14 days of life. This is the time when they are still very sleepy and will curl up in cute poses. However, if you have missed this timeframe, do not worry, I can take newborn photos up to 5 weeks old. Contact me and I will let you know what we can do if your baby is older than the ideal timeframe.
-
The best time to book your newborn session is in your 2nd trimester. This will allow enough time for both of us to work together to schedule, design, and finalize the details of your newborn session. When you book your session with me, we will pencil in a date close to your due date. We will be in touch to adjust the date according to when your baby arrives.
-
A typical newborn session takes between 2-4 hours. Most of the time is spent soothing, feeding and settling the baby in a pose. I have a comfortable sitting area in the studio for you to relax during the session. You do not need to bring anything for the session as I will have everything needed in the studio. However, you are welcome to bring some sentimental items that you want to photograph or some personal items to use during the session.

Yes, absolutely! Every newborn session will include your family members. This would be a great time to have your very first family portrait with your new family member.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The best time to book your baby’s 1st milestone session is when he/she is around 7 - 9 months old. Some families prefer to have photos received before a baby’s first birthday or have photos displayed at the birthday party. In that case, we will have the session around the baby’s 11 months. Some families prefer to document their baby’s one year closer to the one-year mark. In that case, we will schedule close to your baby’s first birthday.

I can create any themes you want. As a boutique studio, we spend time with each family to create a vision board to generate the perfect theme for your little one.
-
Absolutely! I love creating timeless white portraits! It is one of my favorites. It puts the focus back on the baby and it matches any walls or decor in your home.
-
Yes, absolutely! Every milestone session will include your immediate family members. These will usually be taken against plain seamless backdrops to focus more on the family. Themed backdrop sizes are smaller and are only good for the baby and sibling(s).
Family Sessions
Family photography is special. Rather than only standard pose-and-smile photos, we try to incorporate candidness and make every session fun. If we are having the session outdoors, we try to play a few games to capture the true joy and togetherness of your family. We try to capture the moments and the feeling where daily life can be hectic, but nonetheless full of happiness and understated moments. These portraits will be kept for generations to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can book your family session all year round! Please allow sufficient time to plan and process your photos.

It would be up to you and what you ultimately want for your end product. If you like the look of a studio setting, we would do it indoors. The benefit of doing an indoor session is that we are not bound by the weather in Vancouver. If you are hoping to have an outdoor session, spring and summer would be the perfect time to do that. Fall is also another great time with all the different colored leaves as the backdrop. Vancouver has one of the nicest natural backdrops and we will work together to find a spot that fits your family!
-
My ideal time to photograph an outdoor family session is an hour before sunset. We call this the Golden Hour. This is the hour when the sun is low enough that it is not too harsh and it creates a gorgeous golden color for your photo. Most family sessions last for 1 hour long.

I know getting the little ones to a family session is tough enough so I will try to make it as easy as possible for you. I will send you a preparation guide prior to your session as well as help you with every single step you need to prepare for the session. During the session, depending on the age of your child(ren), we will be playing some games and having fun. We will take some time to let your little one get used to me and the environment. Your job is not to know how to pose. I will be there to guide you on how to pose and what to do. All you need to do is to be relaxed and at ease, because this should be fun. If your little one will not cooperate, we will take a lot of candid photos and your little one will not even notice. This is the moment we will want to remember, those candid moments at that time of their lives.
